I think he summed up in a second from that angle with the defenders getting back that he had to get it low and hard and on target. FOOTBALL BRAIN

I don't think we can underestimate the importance of his three assists. It shows that he is improving his football brain, taking up good positions and thinking about the game more. An intelligent, powerful player, fuck me what an asset that could be (and already is). He still has so much potential.
Good luck to the lad, he deserves the new contract he's getting to double his wages. The lad is a humble grafter, a rare species these days.

I don't think his first was a shot. Pinpoint cross.

Yeah I agree, his 1st was definitely a shot and whilst the 3rd wasn't eye of the needle I just get so used to seeing our players not pull off that killer pass or cock it up at the crucial moment that I was surprised he did it to perfection with the correct pace and precision.
He would of got MOTM if it wasn't for Carroll's wonder goal.

Re: Antonio

His 3rd assist was his best one but it was hardly the Bish' chucking it through an eye of the needle.... his 1st one was an attempt on goal... and his 2nd one was obviously behind Carroll .... and 999/1000 everyone would have groaned.... BUT... if you look at the Fantasy Football on the DT you'd get a nice 11 point total this week... as long as you have him in your team that is...

Funny you say the opposition defenders won't have a clue what he's going to do next, as I feel even Antonio doesn't know what he's doing next at times you can see he just goes on instinct.
Top performance from him and that ball for the 3rd was excellent vision. Perfect pace to set Lanzini on his way.

Re: Antonio

He's what the England team require - someone who is a bit different, ie the defenders won't have a clue what he's going to do with the ball. Unfortunately that's the exact reason why Southgate will never pick him. He wants an academy, by the book, automaton.

Re: Antonio

I think sometimes his head does not know what his feet are doing... a very instinctive player rather than a clever player... which ain't so bad... my Forest mate I asked him when we signed him what was he like and he said you don't get a average game with him.. he's either Pele or a leper ... I like him... he's very very different to a lot of the polished typical PL type of player you see day in day out

Plus he's average defensively as was shown when I was nearer to Tomkins than he was when he should have scored but going the other was is a superb outlet. When we are under pressure him receiving and running half the pitch with it helps us out massively

Remember that lovely goal he got against Sunderland last season. That was with his left.

Re: Antonio

I love his attitude and his instinct of running at players and getting forward.
I think his lack of (compared to his other attributes) technical ability is part of his charm and his effectiveness as defenders find it very difficult to read him.
I like that although he is weaker on his left, he isn't like a lot of players scared of using his weaker foot.
With all of his excellent attributes, if he could just be a bit more technical then he'd be an amazing player... but then unlikely to be a West Ham player so maybe it's for the best.

To be fair Eddie, Bilic probably knew that but didn't want to just bring Byram straight in when lots of players have had to wait ages for first team chances.
Byram isn't that good defensively but he's the best we have and the team balance looked much better 2nd half at 4-4-1-1...

Was still started in the wrong position. You would've thought Bilic would have learnt by now.

Re: Antonio

Fuck him off to Chelsea.
Some on here think he doesn't have much ability and is easily replaced, when for me he's clearly been our most consistent player since gaining his place in the team.
I don't really get bothered by anything the so called experts say, but if those balls had come from deli alli yesterday, they would have wanked over them. All 3 of them were pin point perfect and two with his left foot.

Yep HOTY by a mile followed then by Obiang.
2 players Slav did not fancy at first (in a plutonic sense). You do wonder why not? Perhaps lack of experience of the Prem and those raw edges put Bilic off him at first and with Obiang I am guessing it was simply that we were doing so well with Kouyate and Noble first half of last season.
Still, all worked out in the end.
